The initiative focused on developing a Smart Bidet device integrated with a mobile application, creating a new type of user experience powered by IoT.

Bemis partnered with Cheesecake Labs to design and build this connected digital platform from the ground up.

The challenge: building a digital product from zero

Bemis brought deep expertise in manufacturing and hardware development, but the digital layer did not exist.

The solution: a connected smart device platform

A mobile-first IoT ecosystem

We designed and developed a complete connected platform, linking the Smart Bidet device with a mobile application. The platform enables:

Device connectivity and control

Session tracking

Personalized user interaction with the device

Smart user identification using beacon technology

To solve the shared-device challenge, we implemented a beacon-based proximity system. This allows the platform to:

Automatically detect nearby smartphones

Associate sessions with the correct user

Remove the need for repeated manual input

To ensure robustness, we also included manual fallback options, balancing automation with reliability.

Building a connected product required careful design of the interaction between the physical device and the digital interface.

We focused on:

  • Simplifying device onboarding and pairing
